Key contacts
We all have a statutory duty to Safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
If you have any concerns about the health and safety of a child at this education setting or feel that something may be troubling them, you should share this information with the appropriate member of the safeguarding team straight away.
Some issues e.g. a child’s appearance, hygiene, general behaviour, can be shared with any teacher or member of staff within the school. Do not worry that you may be reporting small matters, we would rather you tell us things which turn out to be small, than miss a worrying situation.
However, if you think the matter is very serious and may be related to a child protection concern, e.g. physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect, you must talk to one of Safeguarding Team using the contact details below. If you are unable to contact them you can ask the school office staff to find them and ask them to speak to you straight away about a confidential and urgent matter.
School work with professionals to help families get support that they require. School can refer to a Family Intervention Service (FIS) who can work with us to identify what support is required. On some occasions school will need to work with the family to do a Family Common Assessment Framework (FCAF) which gathers information about the whole family.
We support Sheffield Children’s Safeguarding Partnership and the school has adopted the policies and procedures found here.
During weekends and school holidays you will not be able to contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead or the Designated Safeguarding Deputies. If you have any concerns about the welfare of a child or young person during these times, please contact the Sheffield Safeguarding Hub on 0114 2734855 (24-hour service)
If you think a child or a young person is in immediate danger, please call Police on 999 at any time.
If you are a child or young person and are worried or feel unsafe then you can get help from Childline a free, private and confidential service where you can be you. You can chat online or on the phone, 0800 1111, any time.
If you have concerns about safeguarding at Bradfield School, contact Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) on now 0114 2734855.
